Help! P900 Stopped Working!

8 replies · 3,025 views · Started 18 February 2005

Pressed the on/off switch on the side of my P900 and nothing is happening.Have taken battery out , sim card and re-inserted them but no-luck.

When I plug the charger in their is no response and the charger is working.
The P900 was working fine before I switched it off and then back on again.

Has the P900 got a reset button which I could try.

Do the on/off switches on the P900 stop working after time.

Any suggestions before I get onto Orange.

Cheers

nasty one! 😮
you need to contact you SE service center asap....or if its newish, contact the place you got it from - good luck

Had the same problem as well about 3 weeks ago with my p900
came home from work and dead, at first thought it was the battery dead,
but then when i put it in the charger it didnt charge nothing total gone.
so i thought thats it time to buy a new one. but i thought lets see what makes
this thing tick. theres a guide on the net how to open your p900 and take it apart.
thus i followed the steps and opened her up. not to much to it but you would be
amazed at the lint and shit that gets into this thing.

one very bad design floor is the side scroll jog dial. it lets so much shit into the phone and clogs it up. so i cleaned it alll out put it back together and prayd.

yes it worked. my conclusion that it must lose contact some where and dies.

well thats my story with mine. if you got no warrrenty and nothing to lose try it.
might same it.

good luck

Cheers fluid215 thanks for the reply

Orange sent another P900 to me yesterday, but would love to know how to take to P900 apart so if it happens again I could try your solution. Is there a web-site to show how to dismantle the P900.

cheers

Andy, do you have orange cover, or was that just under warranty? ta

it was covered by orange insurance, does anything happen when u plug the charger into the phone.

bummer, mine isnt 😞 but it is still under warranty, so hope that counts for something?

nope, if i put it on docking station with charger on, still nothing happens - just stays on the orange startup screen
