I got my 6620 last week. I have Windows XP SP2 and Nokia PC Suite v6.3 and use Outlook as my PIM and sync via bluetooth. When I try to send a text message written on my computer with my phone via PC Suite's "Send Text Messages" function, I get an error message that the Sync ML Client (what is this?) has been closed. The message is not sent, and the connection between phone and computer is broken until I reboot the computer. Am I doing something wrong?
Also, when I sync with Outlook with PC Suite, I get a message that another program is trying to access my Outlook email information and then I have to allow access for the sync to proceed. Is there anyway to get around this step?
Thanks very much.
The 6620 doesn't have support for the "Send Text Messages" function of PC Suite (some Nokia phones do, and that feature works with those). Search for "Microsoft SMS Sender" on http://www.microsoft.com to get an app that works on Windows XP and uses so called AT modem commands to send SMS.
The security dialog was introduced originally by Microsoft a few years ago to Outlook (as an Outlook 2000 security update/service pack) to prevent malicious applications (or Outlook macro viruses) to send messages without the user being aware of it. There are utilities for Windows that can be installed to detect this dialog and automatically click "Yes" for the user, but there is no Windows, Outlook or PC Suite setting to bypass it.
