I just bought the phone and woundered should I shell out the 50 for the 256meg card now......or wait for the 512meg card to come out?

Any guesses on how much the price of a 512 card will be and how quick the price will drop after it comes out? I'm kinda skint at the moment

I could probably wait 2 months if necessary?

Are these cards really hot swapable in a 6630??

thanks for the advice

God only knows when the 512's will be out, the 128 / 256 have only just come out in the last week.
Yes the cards are hot swapable

For those interested.
Just got me 256 card from mobilefun this morning.
An empty card will fit approx 900 images in 'normal' mode or 432 in 'high' mode.
Personally, to the untrained eye, I can not see any differences between normal & high settings.

Anybody know of a place where I can Buy this card online, that will deliver worldwide?

i got the 256mb dv mmc (ATP) from www.play247.gr 3 days ago and unfortunetly on my 6630 it has a little problem installing applications and also it just automaticly goes back to the nokia theme and in result it throws my applications i have saved in my 6630 folders mack to the root menu!! Im not 100% happy with it

This German seller delivers to the U.K I ordered mine today and should get to me by friday. Heres the link if anyone is interested 256 Cards

I know it's eBay but he is a very reputable seller.

Enjoy!!

I bought a 128mb dv rs mmc for 12 off of ebay( and payed 3.99 for 1st class recoreded delivery), i recieved it today the delivery was very fast> I feel i got a good deal 😃 and im using my 64mb dv rs mmc i got free with the phone just for mp3s

Hi I got a Nokia 6630 recently and bought a new memory card for it.

I ordered a TwinMOS RS-Multimedia Card 512MB. When i insert the card into the phone it doesnt recognise there is a card inserted. I'm guessing the card isnt dual voltage or somthing...

Can someone take a look at the specs and tell me where i'm going wrong please.

I just received my 256 card today but upon checking it there is only 243mb of space on he card is this normal or have i been screwed?

that is correct. the missing space is allocated to the mmc partition system files i think.

just like an 80gb hdd. u dont get the exact 80 😉

Hi everyone,

If you're using a DV-RSMMC 128MB or 256MB, its most likely an ATP card. If anyone is having ANY issues or concerns with their card please contact me at [email protected]

I'll make sure you're taken care of and that you are all happy with your purchases.

i don't think so..there are a lot of other manufacturers out there already produced dv rs mmc card..namely apacer, NCP,IPOC,kingmax, pen drive, digitrend and some others. the only setback is they're all expensive to buy in normal shop...i'm waiting to buy from a forum friend...a 256 dv rsmmc from pen drive, he said the price is US$60...i think that's the cheapest i could get here.

That's to do with drive manufacturers misleading people by assuming there's a billion bytes in a gigabyte when there are in fact 1,073,741,824. So all hard disk specifications are over estimated by 7%.

i bought an ATP 256mb on ebay for 58 shipment included. It will arrive in about 10 days...

i found a company in Norway which has the 512 dual volts for 70 euro's without shipment, but they don't send to other countries than Norway itself...

anyone from Norway feels like organising a shipment for the 6630 and 6680 people ?

it is dual volt + states clearly the compatibility with the 6630 :icon14:

please anyone order one for me and send it, i will pay you !

it is sad to say but you got it wrong... it states that it is NOT working with the 6630...

"Passer ikke til Nokia 6630" = "Not suitable for Nokia 6630"

i actually bought one of these just after christmas, and to my disappointment it did not work with my 6630. i sold it to a friend with a 6230 and it worked perfekt in his phone... 😞

but hopefully 512 will be available soon 😊

they sent me email stating it WAS compatible 😡
so that's on them,

although i must admit my norvegian is a little rusty 🙄 😉

i think the 'high speed' is a fable. Every card dual volt is high speed.
i heard it has to do with the golden connections on the back of the card. If you have many (between 6 or 9 i think) it is a good one, thus a fast one.

Don't know if it is true though...

Did you order the high speed version?

Memory cards can vary in speed. This is common with SD's for example.

Strange they dont mention how much faster it is? 2x? 3x?
