this is the second time this has happened-In messages when i type numbers appear rather than letters, the small pencil button has stopped working + if i press phone settings button + then general, my phone switches off + on.
I had to send it away for a software upgrade last time-Does anyone know how to
fix it?

Sounds strange. Have you installed any applications on your phone just prior to this behaviour starting (e.g., "WildSkinz" is notorious in this respect).
You can also try doing a full reformat of the phone. All user-data (messages, contacts, settings, pictures, etc.) in phone memory will be lost (the SIM or the memory card won't be affected). yeah i tried that the last time but it did'nt work, & yes ur rite i have being downloading a lot of software onto the phone wild skins cud have being one of the many, i thot wrongly that if i saved ev thing 2 memory card it wud'nt give me these probs, oh wel i've parcled it back up 2 send it to CRC group & wen i get it back i'll behave myself in the future
