can someone please explain firmware to me
all i know is that it can be upgraded
does it cost to have the firmware upgraded?
any help please?

my understanding of it is limited.
its just like pc, firmware would be like the OS of a pc, ie win98, win2k..etc.
so everytime, an os is launched, there bound to be bug and thus the patches.. so the firmwares work the same principle. when a particular firm is launched.. then there are known bug, it would be corrected in the subsequent updates.
whether or not it cost to upgrade, i am not sure.. probably it depends on the country and services provided by the vendor.
Well I've just been on the phone to my local nokia center here in Newcastle upon Tyne and they said they could not upgrade the firmware as they haven't been traind on the hand set!!!! so no firmware upgrade for me for a while yet 😡

I phoned them today and they say they are still waiting for the gear to the upgrade they said about another week and the cost............FREE!!!!! 😊
Hi I've just got my 6630 and it's running great so far, it's brand new but still got v2.39.152 on it. I live near Coventry does anyone know where I can get it upgraded to the latest version if I need to?
