My 3650 is brain dead

2 replies · 2,232 views · Started 23 February 2005

My girlfriend accidentally dropped my 3650 into a cup of water (women! UGH!). I took the battery out immediately, then I took off/out the faceplate, mmc, and sim card and shook out some of the water (ahhhh!) and let it dry for 5 hours.

Currently the phone will turn on but it doesn't get past a blank white screen and won't respond to any of the buttons anymore, meaning I can't turn it off without taking the battery out. The keypad LEDs light up for a few seconds and then turn off and won't turn on no matter what button I push.

I imagine there is little I can due but save the SIM and mm cards and buy a new phone.

If anyone has any suggestions about how to fix the phone please help. I have some electrical engineering training, so I can try taking it apart and replacing certain portions of the phone if you know where I can buy them. I could even test current going to certain components as I have an analog DMM.

Thanks

i have tried this once and it worked so leave ur phone below a radiator 4 a night or 2 an it might turn on. water has probabaly got into the screen and should be evapourated out, just dont try 2 use a blowtorch😊

also do u know how i could fix a nokia 3650 which cant get past the beggining nokia logo? answer me with a private message, no other way(i wont know where i found this thread).😉
