I just bought a 7710 and was praying that I got one of the newer firmware versions but unfortunately got stuck with the first buggy build. I was wondering if there is anyway to upload the new firmware version onto the phone.

Yes, with special equipment and software + the required firmware files. Nokia authorized service centers should have those, so send/take your phone to the nearest one. Start looking for the address for one here: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,42096,00.html

I suppose "for the Benelux" just means that the firmware version is question is the one that was on the first 7710 phones sold in the Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).
