Guys
I have read the FAQ and it sounds like you can activate voice dial via headset.
But how? Can someone post specifics?
Say I have a BT headset and I want to dial someone from my address book using via headset (without touching my phone) and voicedial?
Do I have to speak 'Voice dial' to activate voice dial and then say 'dial XYZ'. Or is it something else?
Thanks in advance.
KG
Also, Can i also traverse the menu using headset alone? Say add a contact to address book or activate infrared or something?
Pushing the button on the headset activates the voice recognition system, and the phone says "Please a command.: You then have three choices:
* Name Dial
* Contacts
* Open <App>
If you say "Name Dial" it then prompts you with "Please say the name." If it recognises the name unambiguously it will take you straight to the record, otherwise it will read out the closest matches and ask "Did you say <name>?", to which you must respond yes or no. If you get to the end of the list then it says "Sorry, no match found" and exits. If the contact you choose has multiple numbers it will list the numbers and ask you which number to use (home, work, mobile), otherwise it will dial the number immediately.
"Contacts" also gives you the "Please say the name" prompt, and takes you to the contact entry for that person, but then you are on your own with no way of navigating the entry by voice.
"Open" asks you "Which application?" and lists some built in applications (including "About"!) to choose from. Once again, once the application is opened you must use the keyboard.
Any lists shown can also be navigated using the joypad, switching off the voice control.
On the whole it works very well, provided you speak clearly and deliberately and there isn't too much background noise.
If your headset supports the handsfree profile then you may also be able to redial the last number (on my Jabra BT250 you hold the button down for 2 seconds).
If you have more questions, the manual is available for download from the Sendo website.
You also say "call XYZ", and your phone will attempt to call who you wish.
Not on my phone you can't - you must say the command first, then wait, then say the name. Can anyone else confirm this?
I can confirm it, on mine you have to say call..."please say the name"...xyz but it accepts open calculator etc.
I have another question, how can I trigger the voice recognition from the standard cable handsfree kit with the button on it? I tried pushing, pushing twice and holding the button for a while but I couldn't triggerred it, I have to take out the phone, unlock the keypad and press the button. My mic is dead so I have to use some kind of handsfree. Because it doesn't support the power saving BT profile (can't remember if it was headset or handsfree, the one which 6600 has, my sendo don't disconnect the BT headset until turning off the BT or the headset, 6600 disconnects after a certain time-out..) my hbh65's battery can't last long enough for a whole day, so at the end of the day, I have to end the day with the standard kit :icon13:
