Do you live in U.S. & have the 7710?

For U.S. residents who have bought the 7710:
How is it working?
What part of the country do you live?
What carrier are you using?
Where did you buy it & for how much?

It's working fine I guess. Earpiece volume is wayy too low though it is clear. The phone is incredible and I always get compliments on it. There are no phones like it in the US really. My biggest complaint is that I got the old first version firmware and that I really have no way of updating it in the US. I'm in Ohio and am using the phone with cingular. Service is great so far so we'll see. Got the phone from plemix.

CA, San Jose, Singular, from Expansys.com, $617 works very well but need case with clip possibly Side Kick 2 case will fit. Having issue finding games that will work with the Symbian 7.0 Series 90. The 7710 uses Java Applets based on MIDP 2.0 and CLDC. I noticed that there are games for MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 Series 60 but not sure if they will work on 7710 Series 90 or maybe they do but display smaller size then screen!

i'm currently using it here in southern california. on a Cingular network. if i could find the setting for edge i surely will try it but the one from nokia is only gprs i think and its working very well. purchase mine from singapore on 26feb 2005 for 540.00 usd. very lucky to find out mine was manufactured in finland

There is no "setting" for EDGE. If you set it up for packet data (WAP or Internet access point, doesn't matter), and the operator whose network you are on supports EDGE, then EDGE will be used. Otherwise "normal" GPRS packet data (modulation/speed) is used. All transparent and automagic.

As far as I know, you can really only detect the presence of EDGE with that phone by looking at download speeds (if the speeds exceed 40-50Kbps and beging to approach 100-120Kbps, you are in an EDGE cell).

Hi guys I want to buy a 7710 and interested in why you bought it over other smartphones/pdas. What are the advantages of 7710? It's all quite confusing trying to buy a new phone! Also is it true that it hangs a lot? What software comes with it? thanks

Is your voicemail notification working properly. I am on Cingular too, but although my voicemail works fine, I can't see the icon when I receive a new message. I tried working it out with Cingular, but as you know, they don't support the 7710.
