I have a new 6620. It is running FW ver 4.22.1. The phone will not set mp3, aac, etc as ringtone. When trying to set as ringtone, the phone says 'file format not supported'. The files are in the correct folder. I have put them on another 6620 (older FW version) and they work on that phone. Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on solutions? I am on Cingular in the US if that helps.

Are you sure? I have try my best to find any method to make 6620 to have MP3 ringtone! Can you tell us how to do it? and where is that 6620 ???
I saw a 6620 running FW 3.14.1 set a file type .aac that I created with Nokia Audio Manager as its ring tone. I did not verify that the tone worked properly (with vibrate, etc.). The phone was an unlocked 6620 with a Tmobile sim in it. The same .aac file will show up on my Cingular locked 6620 in the ringtone list. It will play when you highlight it in the list. It will not set as ringtone. The message is 'Cannot set as tone. Invalid file format.' I have been back and forth with this for the last two days with Nokia and Cingular. Thanks for the file converter help also.
The file converter worked like a champ. And even better, it made the file TINY compared to the mp3. Bless you my child for informing this poor old ex programmer of this fine tool.
