Invalid sim card

While switching on my nokia 7610, I obtained the following message:Invalid sim card. I have to switch off again and re-switch on. Why?

seems like ur phone doesnt support that network.. is it a diff network from where u bought ur phone from? if it was you would need to get ur phone unlocked

The phone works normally on the network. It occurs rarely.

take your sim card out and give it a clean
may be a bit of dust getting in the way of the connectors
