Auto Keypad Lock/Unlock NOW!!!

31 replies · 6,952 views · Started 26 October 2002

Hi People,

Just some simple sw for the 7650 that I whipped up over some cashews 😊

This will either automatically lock the keypad or unlock the keypad when the grip is closed. Sort of like seleq, but giving you the option to choose what you want. And it is small too, so 😊

Hope somebody finds this useful 😃

Let me know if you have any problems or suggestions on the Symbian C++ forum at:

http://www.allabouter6.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3576

The download is also available at the same topic.

there already is an option built in to autolock (with your security code)...

but i guess this just locks/unlocks without needing security code???

😊

The KeyLock that this application handles is the message that pops up when the keypad is closed (slide in). The OS pops up a message asking you whether you want to lock your keypad, though it has been noticed that this message goes off if you leave it untouched for a few seconds some find it right royal annoying 😃...

This utility when running in the background either locks the keypad automatically when you slide it in or unlocks it when you slide it in 😊

Hello People, just updated the original program to version 1.1 (now saves settings on exit and reloads on execution 😊 )... Hop down to the link on the original post (Symbian C++ forum)....

Hi,

Can you describe how exactly you are using it and whether you are getting any errors ??

Thanks

ei, talk2sk, tried your app. and it's great, also tried the latest version (1.1), i exited the app. but didnt save the changes. would u know what i am doin wrong?

i like it really!!!

Great work....

for me,the Version 1 is perfect,
Cause i wanna most time let my settings even :dont lock.
and if i need it onces auto.lock, then its only a small step to change it.
But i like it,that it allways return to dont lock...

Thanx for u very much....

a real impressed Smi

Thanks a lot once again guys for the support, Special thanks to Rafe for the news article on the main page (more publicity for the Symbian C++ forum).

Sean, I have asked around on the Symbian C++ forum on whether anyone else had the same problem, can you verify that there is a "KeyLock.ini" in the app directory (You can use fileop 😉 kidding)
Very nice application, even though I havent had the chance to try it! 😞
Hehe!

in my phone, the app, dont lock the keypad or unlock the keypad when the grip is closed.

Simply, dont work...

nothing, nothing, nothing 😞 😞 😞

its possible that somebody publishes some instructions for silly??, maybe don't understand the true operation of the program. : (

I would thank any axplication type:

1. - to install soft.

Just simply put the program running at the background of the phone?

What do you mean that it don't work for you?

Please state your problems in details here. Thanks

Even if we were to post it another hundred times, you would'nt be able to see it if u dont register..and log in!!! Common guys...

Great application!! 😃 This one takes off one of the very few annoyances of 7650.

Now... here's a stupid question. This appl has to run in background to work.. right? Will that effect the battery time or the speed of the phone?(however small..?) Just curious. This one will is worth having on phone even if it does 😊

The battery life with this programm running on the backgroun could be about 5-10 minutes at max lower 😊 Does not matter!
