help needed - newbie user

ok i've spent a while looking for answers on forums but havn't found any, so if i have missed a blatant post about the problems im having i apologise profusely

ok here goes. my phone is the Sendo X with latest revisions UK Vodafone Firmware on it:

1. the mp3 player menu as described in the sendo user guide is none existant. i have only 2 options in the mp3 settings menu... those options are repeat and random. nothing about muting sound, track time display, display time or about autolocking the keypad, as shown in the pdf user manual. i find this quite frustrating. am i missing something? (probably, if so, show me the way!)

2. the pc connect file browser crashes bringing up this message: "the following resource is not available" with an ok button. this keeps on repeating whenever i try to to use it.

3. on the occasion i can use the file browser to transfer files, i find that the .3GP video files wrok fine when transfered to my pc, but the .jpg and .gif files cant be read by my pc. Windows XP file viewer just says "no preview available", yet i can view the same pictures on my phone. anybody help me on this one?

4. mp3's can't be used as ringtones? that sucks. cos converting them into .wav is a daft solution. to get a decent sound quality you need to use 44100 khz and that lead me to a 32 mb ringtone file 😮 not impressed

5. i'm having the same problem as another user on this forum, MK545 or something similar, sorry, it's 2AM and i cant be bothered to check his/her name. My Sendo X will not send MMS. I try and it saves it to resend later. Then upon attempting to resend it fails. I'm on UK Vodafone pay as you go, and I rang vodaphone customer service. The guy said that I'm set up, the connection is fine at their end, and resent me the settings for the MMS and Vodafone Live. Still doesnt work. Can anyone help me? I'd really appreciate it.

Final question... I know I've asked a lot... but what dif will having ahigh speed SD card compared to a 3 yr old SD card have on the speed of using programs and data?

Thanking all who can help this Sendo X newbie out.

Jonny

1) I don't think these options exist! I have never read the manual so haven't seen what we are missing!

2) Are you using the latest version 37? Are you connecting via USB cable?

3) I guess this is to do with number 2. PC Connect is probably not transferring the files correctly.

4) There is a good reason for this. MP3s are not a native format hence you need an extra application to play them. What I did was to convert to wav (lower the quality a bit as you dont need all that for the external speaker) and just take 30 seconds or so of the song (the chorus maybe). I also used mono sound. Then it only takes up about 3MB and for a phone with this much memory it doesnt mater.

5) I dont use MMS and dont know much about it.

OK, so im glad its not just my phone with the knacked up menus, but still, if the sendo x user manual has it, it should be there.

the mp3 problem isnt really a problem and im glad u explained it to me. thanks!

the MMS is now working! i had it on contract settings not prepay 😮

the only remaining gripe i have the pictures still wont transfer properly, even with the latest version of PC Connect! It's so infuriating. Ihave pics of me n my g/f i want to send to my relatives and i cant! Stupid PC just wont open the files. :| Is there another file browser avaialable for the Sendo X, apart from O2 Manager? Cos i'm connectig via USB and this only supports Bluetooth and IRDA sadly. And it's not free and limited whilst unlocked.

Cheers man, for all your help

PC Mobile drive from http://www.epocnova.com/ is really good. You can explore your phone directly from the Windows Explorer.

thanks man at $18 it's not bad, but i still can't seem to view certain jpg's and gif's on my phone. some of the ones that came preloaded can be viewed but all the ones i took with the phone or transferred from my g/f's sagem myv75 refuse to open. I get errors like "can't determine type" from microsoft picture editor and "no preview avaiable" from windows XP viewer. im rerally annoyed and upset. why wont they work?!?!?! Please advise
