Waiting for the Postman to Come...

Hey,

My Nokia 6630 is in the mail and i'm waiting for it to arrive today (or monday) but fingers crossed. Just a few questions about it:

I was wondering if it comes with a DV MMC included?
Does anyone recommend the video stand for 3G video calling?
I heard with O2 you don't receive delivery reports in that when you go to the delivery menu, the messages you sent whether it has delivered or not always says 'Pending'. True?
How long is the initial charge before I can use the phone?
Can I use it whilst its charging?

Sorry, I know it all seems a bit impatient but u know how it is waiting for a new phone! 😃

Thanks!

hi,there 😃 yes,it will come with 64MB DV RS-MMC card... i dont know,if to recommend you to buy the video stand, because i dont have any experiences with 3G,because there is no UMTS in my country yet 😞 and caused by tha fact that i dont live in UK,i dont know to tell you about O2 as well,sorry... and what about charging ?? i always charge my new phone 3 times for 10 hours /turned off/ this is the process called cycling of the battery to take its maximum power... 3 times of 10 hours long charning and full discharging of the battery /if the phone turns off itself/ ... and my standby time in GSM area is 7 days,i need to charge only once a week, not more... but the standby time may differ from version of firmware to another version... after this cycling of the battery you can use your phone anytime,if it is in the charger.... good luck 😃

Normally comes with a 64 mb dv rs-mmc card

4 hours, also there is a guide in the manual how you should charge and de-chage it the first 2 or 3 times

Yes

It's a great phone, worth the waiting 😊

thanks guys, it came about 1 hour ago! Love it!!! 😃

Does anybody know where i could download themes, and is it possible to find out the dimensions of the background wallpaper on the front end of the phone?

Thanks again

Hit the search button bro'
Loads of threads about themes etc...
As a newbie to this phone you'll have loads of questions, all of which will have been asked before, so just do a search and I'm sure you'll discover what you are looking for.
It's a great phone - have fun with it.
Oh, I have the video call stand and apart from it looking cool on my desk, i've never used it, but it works and it works well.

Hey Guys,

Just a little observation, but Lithium Polymer batterys do not really get any benefit from "Cycling" not like a normal NiCad battery would with a memory.
This is also backed up by the fact that each time you charge the battery it's life expectency is shortened.
Going in the other direction slightly, at a different place I have read they like to be kept fully charged.

Also no Lithium Polymer battery like's to be fully discharged, however the phone will not take the battery down to no volts.

The O2 UK network doesn't support delivery reports for SMS but it does support support them for MMS.

If you want delivery reports for SMS, put *0# at the front of the text.

I thought all the good phones come with 64MB memory cards (like the 7610 for example)

Why does the 6630 only ship with a 32MB DV-RSMMC?

Hmm ... I don't like the looks of the 6630 or 6680. Might wait a little longer 😛

Ehm...

Mine shipped with a 64mb card, bought form 3.dk and so far as i can see, the majority got it with a 64 mb card.

Mine only came with the 32mg card too :-/

Although they did throw in the video stand for nothing.

And as you asked whether it'd be recommended... I'd say yes, if you plan on using video calling, and only plan on using it at home/office (ie not on the move!) plus it looks kinda cool sat on my desk 😊

if you were hoping to use it while on the move, then I wouldn't bother, it needs to be plugged into the mains! (unless you have one heck of an extension cable!!)
