I have a 512 MB MMC card with some games and mp3s and no matter what I am doing, (listening tomp3s or playing games" I keep getting a message saying that it is unsafe to remove the memory card without selecting remove mem. card first"
it really is driving me crazy.. I have read other people having this problem too I wonder if this is only affecting the QD and what the solution is.... 😡

thanks in advance

It only affects phones that have a Hotswap port.

If you are playing a game or listening to music that is on your memory card, then the memory card is being read (a symbol is shown on the display to tell you this). Removing the memory card when it is being read from or written to could cause different effects.

Pressing the power button then selecting remove mem. card is the solution, the text memory card can be removed now is shown.

If you are not trying to remove your memory card and it says unsafe to remove card, then ensure it is in correctly.

Thanks for your replies but I am not trying to remove the memory card. It gives me this error when I am playing games from the mmc card or listening to music. At no time I attemptto remove it.

Check if the gold part of the MMC card's tarnished or dirty, it may be that the head's not getting good contact with the reader in the phone, making the phone think u're removing the card without selecting it from the power menu.
I've heard of an instance like this when a friend of mine used a REALLY old MMC card that's seen alot of exposure and hence alot of tarnish on the head of the MMC card.
If the problem still continues, see a Nokia Care Centre.

Hi earthdance.. ur problem drive u mad & so do I... ok, I've check with nokia centre and after 2 weeks they said that some MMC not compatible with n-gage or qd. So when purchasing MMC, pls ask the seller "does the MMC that I'm buying support N-gage?". I xperience the problem & now I got 2 pieces of 256MB MMC. where 1 keeps pop-ing up It is unsafe to remove ur MMC w/o....... when playing games & another card is stable.. TYVM 😊 😉
