Nokia 6600 PC Suite Problem

Hi,
I would really appreciate some advice.Today i got a replacement handset 6600 because my old one wouldn't turn on for some unknown reason. I thought i'd have no trouble in backing the new phone up with my files (esp contact files) using Nokia 6600 PC suite. However PC Suite says that since the phone is a different one from the original one i backed up, i can't restore any information to the new phone. Is this correct??

Otherwise i'm stuffed, with no contact info etc.

Does it work, if you make a new backup with the new phone and then dump the old backup files for your old phone on top of the new backup files and restore?
