An alternative to Nokia PC Datasuite

Is there an alternative to Nokia PC Datasuite, as it does not work with XP, and I have a 7650 that I cannot do anything with

How do you guys backup your phonebook and install additional apps, change wallpapers, download pictures etc etc .... ?

Yes, most of us send the files directly via bluetooth or IR.. Then if the files need to be placed elsewhere we use SeleQ or similar..

Currently I dont think there are any alternatives to PC Suite (for backing up etc... ) For Linux there is supposed to be P3NFS or similar...

If you connect via IR, when you point your device and turn on the Infra Red at the 7650, you'll get a little message on your desktop saying : new hard ware detected or something, and you can send files TO your device from the temporary "wireless link" icon that shows on your desktop only when your device is connected, and the same way to send stuff FROM the 7650! Really easy, no additional software needed.

PS: nokia data suit does work on my windows XP, how come your having problems? :-?

Thx for the help. Getting the knack now !! 😃

I'm pleased you have your PC Datasuite working on XP, I've tried it on my PC, Sony laptop, and this afternoon on a mates PC, and we all get the same messages (grey boxes) telling us that there has been a problem and would we like to send the report to microsoft. Tried compatibility mode and just about everything I can think of but no joy. Unfortunately I dont have anything with IRDA & Win 98 on anymore  I have hundreds of phonebook entries on my old 7110. guess I'm gonna have to type them in 1 by 1 😮

Thx for you concern. let me know if you know of a fix. Judging by the forums, many people can get it to work on XP, but there are just as many who cant :-?

Is there any way to get Nokia PC Data Suite 5 to work with the 7650?

Why couldn't they make a PC Suite like that to us?
