Hello All,
I am using this Nokia 7610 and all worked fine.
I installed a couple of applications "answering machine" and "FScaller"
it was working fine for sometime..
Then suddenly, phone started acting funny..
now there are a few keys that dont work...
123 keys not working
**456 keys are working
789 keys are not working
0 is not working
*# keys are working
What is a possible cause of this?
I wanted to do a factory restore using the Green key, 3 and * but my * key is not working so I cannot do that.
I uninstalled the FScaller and found that my AutoExecDaemon file also got removed.
Now, what should i be doing? any help would be appreciated.
Should i find a AutoExecDaemon.sis file and install it? will that solve my problem with keypad?

Which firmware do u have?
A friend of mine once complained of the same issue... Except she said it was the "Menu" key and the "Edit" key!
She also said that she restarted her phone and it all got fixed!

I havent seen my firmware, and i guess with ths keys not responding i will not be able to do so. Is there another way to do it?
As I mentioned, I am also unable to reset to factory settings.
can you think of any issue? I dont think my hardware has a problem...
I can connect the phone to my pc via bluetooth. So is there anything i can do from the PC to fix it?

Ummm try to restart the phone... if u cant, take out the battery and replace it again, and switch it on!
Also try opening the front cover, and cleaning the keypad... it might have some residue stuck in there, that may cause the keys not to function!

initially i tried with removing the battery and then placing it to start the phone... didnt help.
I cleaned the keypad... didnt help
However, today morning strang thing happened...
My 123 and 0 keys started working. please note, i did not do anything with the phone.
I took this opportunity to do a formatting... using the "green" * and 3 key
Formatting went on nicely...
But the 789 keys are still inactive..
i dont know what is going on with this phone!

the bloody keys sometimes work and sometimes dont...
Just a while back.. I had all the keys working properly... and now again 789 keys and the "No" key is not working...
I dont think this is a hardware problem...
is there such a virus which does this?
i am so very frustrated with it and all the charm is gone!
I would suggest you take ur cellphone to the nearest Nokia Care Center and get its looked at.
