Folks
Is there any limitation in Opera / Symbian OS (using a 9300) to access web content on non standard ports ?
I try to access a web server on port 900 but it doesnt seem to work. Other site work just fine.
Any idea ?
Regards
alex

Do you mean 9000? 😉 Or that's the port I've been trying to access, my SlimServer. When I do it over GPRS (O2 UK) I can't access it. I've not tried at home, will do that tonight and let you know. 😊

No no, I'm trying to connect on port 900... Any reason I shouldn't ?
Let me know if it works for you

What's on 900 then... 😉
Anyhoo, I can connect perfectly well on port 9000 using the web browser on my 9500 when I connect on the internal network. However if I try to connect over O2 GPRS I can't connect. I get a gateway or server error (can't remember exact error message).
It seems to me that there's no limitation on the 9500 on itself (either TCP/IP or Web aka Opera).
If you need port 900 and are connecting through O2, I suggest giving them an earful, and while you're at it, ask them to open up port 9000 too 😃 After all, it's not their %$^$&*^%"*!)&%)( business to tell us what ports we can or can't connect to - the GPRS service is costly even with all ports open....
