9500, 9300 frame rate playing movies

What is the fastest smooth frame rate you all are getting when you play back movies on the 9500 or 9300 and what software do you find gets the best results?
Thanks

Thankyou. I have been through all 21 pages but nothing is mentioned regarding fps. This is pretty important as it can make a movie watchable, along with the correct kbps or a pain in the butt and not worth watching at all. Eg. Ive converted sharp 902 movies to play at 15fps which is ok, the sony psp up to 29fps which is great but when it comes to the 9500 Im am unsure. Reading the review here it says the processor isnt up to much, until the latest firmware. I was hoping to get at least 15fps out of it.

The processor is just fine. Using the Makayama software, I'd guess the framrate is around 15fps. It's hard to measure exactly through plain eyesight, but the playback is smooth enough. RealPlayer and SmartMovie - at least the version I tried a while ago, is close to useless for video playback (very choppy).

Both SmartMovie and Makayama have a trial version... 😉

Thanks for the info. The reason I was asking is because I dont have a 9500 yet and this is the last question I have that no one in a shop can seem to answer or even close. Its kinda vague but if it plays bad Ill have to carry my psp around with me. I play a lot of movies on the psp and if the 9500 can perform close to it then thats all my boxes ticked and I'll go ahead and get one. Oh, and it would be great to use for my small business but thats just the excuse to get one. 🙄 BTW how do you think the screen compares to a 262k screen like that on the p910i?

Cheers

Oh, I see, I thought you already had one. Well, I haven't used a 262K screen phone yet, but one review I read of the 9500 compared its 65K screen to other PDAs and phones (even those with 262K) and the reviewer found the 9500 to have the best screen he had seen on a handheld. In reality 262K colours is superfluous on a handheld screen. The difference between 65K and 262K wouldn't be noticeable in most cases.

The Communicator screen resolution (640x200) isn't the best suited for watching movies though. I've tried a few clips on my 9300 to test the quality, but I can't see myself using it much for watching films. I prefer a good eBook anyway. 😊

I've had a P910i and my 9500 side by side and the 9500 is much, much better than the SonyEricsson which appears washed out.
