Email header retrieval

Hi all,

First post 😊 I just moved over from a BlackBerry to a Nokia 6630 - as you would imagine, since i had a blackberry, email is pretty important to me.

I am just wondering; i have set up the integrated email client, and it is working successfully, but i would like to know what kind of data usage the 'automatic retrieval' uses (set to 5 minutes, header only)?

I have set the header only retrieval to 5 minutes, but each time i try to exit the 'messages' area, it asks me if i wish to disconnect; if i disconnect, will this prevent the automatic retrieval from working? If i do not disconnect, will it use a huge amount of data?

Thanks for your assistance!
Henry.

Welcome to the site!

Staying connected, but with no data to transfer (no new messages to retrieve or to send), it has no significant impact.

You can use the Log application and the Connection Manager application on the phone to monitor connections and the amount of data transferred. Do it for a while and you'll see for yourself how much or how little is transferred, etc.
