I purchased my 7710 around a month ago. For the first couple of weeks, I had great receptions with the phone and I was very satified with its reception performance indoors. Around 2 weeks ago, all of a sudden my phone's reception went from excellent to extremely poor. When I am outside in an area with very strong signals, I get great reception but the instant I step into any type of building (tall, short, wood, concrete) the phone will go from full bars to a totally disconnected state. I've tried everything from soft reset, hard reset, reformatting user area, reformatting my MMC card, removing MMC card but to no avail, the reception is totally disconnected when I am indoors in a strong signal area. I called Nokia USA and Nokia UK and neither can provide me any type of service repairs. Nokia USA stated that the phone is not for the US market so no repairs can be done. Nokia UK said they do not perform any sort of overseas repairs, so now I am running out of options.
I never dropped the phone, I handled it very carefully. It was never subjected to any abuse or abnormal conditions. It just all of a sudden went from great reception to poor reception indoors. If you guys have any suggestions please post them.
