Thinking about getting a one of the above phones and wanted to know what your experiances of them are like, epecially after owning them for a while.
What is it like to use the stylus on the A1000? I've never used one, but it seems like a good idea.
They take TransFlash cards, which only go up to 256mb. Does anyone know it its likely people will get round this or is to hardwired into the phone?
Do either of them come with a datacable to connect them to my pc?

Only used the A1000 - but after using the a1000 i dont think i'd consider looking at another phone till my contract expires, there is so little you can do with the phone, and what few apps arent already out you can write yourself!

It takes a little getting used to if you have never used one, and if you are an avid text writer it may cause you a little grief, but otherwise it is a very useful doojit, it gives you so much more flexibility overall.

As far as i know this isn't a restriction on the phone, but a restriction of the company in that thay havent made any bigger yet. They will come out, and i know people using 1GB SD cards in their a925's so can see no reason why the A1000 wou;dn't support those capacities..

This depends on where you are getting the handset from. If its a 'proper' company like three with a three contract, then yoyu'll get the datacable. I would recommend buying a bluetoth dongle though, as the a1000 has built in bluetooth and its much nicer to sync up whilst lying in bed than using a cable / cradle.
As for these trivialties, however, i can say only one thing. Symbian. E1000 is without, and in this respect without my vote. Sure the e1000 has java but what you get with the a1000 is a different ball park - The application list is immense. If you like to tinker with your mobile, then its the a1000 all the way.
Hope this helps, and I look forward to seeing you on here as a fellow a1000 owner soon!
Mitch
I have the A1000 and after having an A920, an A925 and an XDAII I couldnt' go back to a 'normal' phone now, I still carry a nokia for txtin' though 😃... The camera on the E1000 is better then the A1000 for some reason, must be the application used / compression or something, also the E1000 is quicker at taking / storing the pictures BY A LOT. But I'll stick with my A series for now.

If you haven’t got one of the above phones already I would go for the A1000. Both my mate and myself joined 3UK at around the same time back in November and he got the E1000 and I the A1000.
I got the A1000 before him and he like myself was blown away with the features and the large wide-screen music videos I was downloading like a mad man being on the Video Value set-up.
When he got the E1000 he liked the sound of the stereo speakers for music and ringtones and I must admit that the stereo on the E1000 is better louder and crisper than the A1000, however in terms of battery life and using the phone since November his is well and truly fed up with it.
My A1000 has gone from strength to strength and there isn’t anything you could mention that my A1000 cant do bar a few completely out of this world tasks.
Oh and about the camera's on both the A1000 and the E1000, considering they are 1 Megapixal, both are crap in anything but daytime lighting conditions. The VGA camera on the front of the phone works quite well all day through, just like my previous 6600's camera which was a brilliant sub-megapixal cam. To be honest I am disappointed with the 1 megapixal camera, however I strongly believe it is a software based problem that could be sorted out via firmware upgrades.
If you fancy finding out anymore information, feel free to PM me.

All valid points bar the camera - I'm annoyed it is as good as useless in anything but good light, but regarding picture quality i have taken some awesome photos.
unfortunately i dont have one on me, as im not at home, else id post it to show you, but if you go into the camera settings, take a full size, best quality picture, you can get a clear crisp landscape picture with ease. I got one of my university that is virtually perfect.
Make sure you let us know what you go for in the end, and any qualms / appraisals you have!
