Hi, you may want to check whether ur settings is correct.

From the menu go to Settings->Enhancement->
Make sure that ur enhancement in use is set to Headset not Loopset. 😊

errr... wrong it dosnt matter if its in loopset or headset ... what can i suggst is try to re-insert your headphone... i suggest to keep on loopset settings coz it makes volume louder...
😉

Has anybody had experience with the above adapter (ebay link) with the 7610/6670. Am gonna buy one, just want to make sure they work

I bought one. The sound quality is definately nothing to write home about (whats to be expected, it is mono). But it does work, and you can use the phone as an mp3 player. It is not too rugged, so be careful with it. Only other complaint, the pop port plug is a bit bulky.
