Have just got a new 9300 and its great - however I cannot install new applications or copy files to it. I've managed to sychronise Outlook, though...
When I open Application Installer I get a message "The content of the phone canot be shown" in the phone window. Similarly Phone Browser does not let me see the phone.
I've installed an updated driver for the DKU-2 cable, and am not sure where to go next...
Any help greatly appreciated!

I had similar problems for a bit. I could see my 9300 at first then a day or two later, I couldn't. Syncing continued to work though.
I got a different error message though. When I tried to copy files to the phone I'd get the message "that operation could not be completed" (or something like that).
Anyway it's working now and I think it was because I followed a couple of the steps from this answer to a question on the Nokia FAQ (below). I did the 'reset PC sync' thing and rebooted my PC and phone (well, turned the phone off and on again which probably isn't a proper reboot).
Q: I got an error message "SyncML Client has not responded" what should I do?
A: 1) Update PC Suite to version 6.41 or later
2) Reboot PC and your Nokia device.
3) Reset synchronization settings:
- Disconnect your Nokia device from PC.
- In your Nokia device, go to Desk -> Tools -> Sync and select "Reset PC Suite profile" from the Tools menu.
- Connect your Nokia device to PC.
- In PC Sync Properties select "Create new configuration", select contents to sync, and use the default settings.
4) Now start sync from PC Sync.
5) If the problem still exists there might be too much Calendar or Contacts items in phone. Remove items until the problem disappears:
- In Calendar open Tools menu and use Move/Delete to remove unnecessary items.
- In Contacts select and delete all unnecessary items.
6) Try Sync again.
Thanks for this - I followed the instructions to point 5 - I'm reluctant to delete calendar/ contact items - I have 350 contacts and 400 diary dates - a lot, but not excessive, I wouldn't have thought. I did briefly make contact with the phone when I re-installed PC suite and emptied my phone of contacts/ diary data. Once I had re-syced it stopped working again. I get an error message saying "Service Layer Module has encountered a problem and needs to close" when attempting to access the phone.
I am still getting this problem - any thoughts?
Nothing very useful except rebooting your PC and trying again.
Try not syncing, just copying the files you want to copy. See if that works.
I have a new Nokia 9300 and whenever I try to sync the Laptop(windows XP) with 9300 , I get an error message "SyncML client has not responded".
I tried to install it alternatively on a desktop and try syncing it to a desktop .
Can yu tell me how yu managed to sync your microsoft outlook
Have you tried the "Reset PC Suite profile" option mentioned earlier in this thread? It works for me. Make sure you reboot your PC too.
Have now solvedf this, and it was my own stupid fault - I had assumed that version 6.4.8 of PC Suite was more recent thatn 6.41. Have instal;led 6.41 nad all is fine and dandy. Will never get the hang of software version numbers ...
To make it easier, 6.5 was just released 😃
