I've been mucking around with it for a while now and still the sodding thing will not lock 😞
I notice that its on the list of 'things improved in 4.51' but still wondering if improved = make something that does not work, work ! 😉
Anyone got there's flashed to 4.51 in the midlands yet ??
What's remote locking?, what part of the phone are you trying to lock and from where?
I'm still on the first version of firmware (which version number escapes me), but I guess i'll get it upgraded at some point soon...likely to use CRC in Nottingham (Not reccomended though - They take ages)

Mmmm......I never RTFM , I just learn as I go but I guess i'll have to dig it out, doesn't sound like a feature i'd use.
Can't get it to work either. Would be _very_ interested to hear from people who actually made it work. Can the non-functioning here have anything to do with an autolock after 10 min.?
Works fine with my french release 4.44, even with autolock activated.

So, okay, what do you do exactly?
I enter a trigger message in the settings screen, thus turning on remote locking and sms that message to myself from my girlfriends phone. That's supposed to do it, right?
Thats exactly what I am doing, but its not locking the N9500 - I am also using my girlfriends phone, maybe thats the link 😉
Is there something else that needs to be sent with the lock code ?
Make sure that the remote locking message in Control Panel is as it should and enabled.
Then make sure that the message you send is exactly as it is in Control Panel (including capitalization).
Note also that if locked remotely, the MMC password will become the first 8 characters of the locking message (if the text is shorter, it will be the complete message).
You can remove the MMC password with File Manager: Menu > Memory Card > Security > Remove password
Can't believe how STUPID I have been !! 🙄
Why was the remote locking not working .. because when sending the message from the other phone I was using the T9 pre-emptive txt .. which puts a capital letter @ the start of the txt ... hence its not the same phrase !! D'oh !!!
Now its working perfectly 😊
