phone fails overall. reformat all. reinstall fresh, not from backup.

now i need my contacts and calendar data which i cant restore using pc suite. always fails. tried copying them over but since the file is always open, it fails.

how do i move my contacts and calendar data back in?

Try to find contacts.cdb or the name of database in your computer, set the contacts storage to MMC then replace the phone contacts database with the one from your computer.

I usualy keep contacts in outlook, and if something like Format occurs, just sync and here I go.

havent gotten past the last one yet and heres another one. cant format my mmc. not through the pc, and not through the phone cause when i choose to format it, the screen sortof blinks then there, nothings happened.

it happened with me before a couple of weeks..
i tried to format the MMC from the PC, and failed.
it will work using MMC reader, again 😉

MMC reader is a device (usually USB) that can read a multimedia card on your desktop/notebook. you can open it like one of you drives...

Sexybeast: there are a lot in Greenhills computer shops or on malls. usually costs about around PhP2T. it's worth it. i used to backup my files, can copy large files directly w/o waiting for the slow PC-suite to do the job. 😉

thanks. ill look it up in g.h.

but thats still 3 days cause of the break. anyone can help me out now. still unable to format anything.

Usualy I heard that keeping a lot of info on MMC (amost full), can determine the phone not to reading it.

Try to avoid this, aspecialy if you do not have 4.13 version, or a MMC larger than 16Mb.

Firmware: 3.18
mmc: 32mb about full

I guess the problem lays with his mmc

im on 4.13
64mb with like 10mb free

so most likely its my mmc thats being a bitch?

any more things i could try to get stuff to work before i go for the mmc reader?

tried that too. didnt work.for those that might run into this...

what finally worked was erasing the folders that i could (some had files open)one by one and formatting the communicator memory.took out the battery and when i turned it on i could format the mmc.

about the contacts, what i did was just rename the contacts.cdb to whatever name.cdb and copied it to the mmc then just moved its contents enmasse to the main directory.
