Hello 😊
I am using a Nokia 6600, FW version 4.09.1 and i am trying to use ProfiMail, v2.17, with my G-Mail account.
I found the required settings on various websites, and i can assure you that i got all the settings within ProfiMail correct. Also "POP" is enabled on my G-Mail account since i can use it without any problems via Outlook Express.
Now i heard from some people they have gotten it to work on 6600's, but some use older FW versions.
What happens with minme is the following: When i leave the "SMTP username" and "SMTP password" blank (as mentioned on the websites i refer to), the error message is "Failed to connect". If i enter the details (my G-Mail username and password, as suggested by an e-mail i got in reference to my entry on a blog) there won't be an erro message but the phone will stay at the "initializing" stage for ever and won't let me into my mail either.
It must have to do with SSL on the 6600 itself, because i tried three SIM's of two different networks, two of which are confirmed working on a different phone (a 6260, where the identical setup works flawless). GPRS/internet is enabled on all three and all access points are setup correctly. Every other internet-related app (Opera, Netfront, Doris, WirelessIRC, Agile Messenger) work with either SIM and without any problem. ProfiMail itself works as well on a different mail account which does NOT require SSL.
Still some people claim to have it working. Do YOU? Please share with me how you did it. Thanks you very much in advance.....

You need to have your username as "[email protected]" and the password on the first configuration page.
Also in the Advanced Settings click "SMTP authentication", put in username and password in "SMTP username" and "SMTP password", POP port is 995 and SMTP port is 465, enable "Use SSL for POP3" and "Use SSL for SMTP".
It all works like a dream on my Nokia 6600 ... hope this helps!
