Secure websites

I am having trouble signing in with a username and password onto secure websites, ie hotmail, my uni webmail, ebay etc etc, anything that requires a password over a secure connection. I can get yahoo to work over the standard server, but not the secure. All the passwords are correct!

This is the same when I try and sign into my uni email account (IMAP) from the mail box.

Can anyone shed some light?

i think you have to select the right ports etc? Check your settings aginst what your mail service recommends.

I am having the same problem. I have an error when connecting to a secure website such as yahoo login and password page.

Doesn't anyone have hotmail or yahoo working? can everyone sign in to secure websites?
And how do I change the "ports" when connecting to a secure website?
