... i have searched this forum and others for the answer to my problem.
okay .. I have a sendo x with the spn: 8Y0H-13171-0x000.
My firmware is an old one: x.1.20.1.2
I am attempting to upgrade the firmware. I cannot for the life of me.
I have the correct drivers. The computer 'sees' the phone in the upgrade mode.
I click continue to start the upgrade process and every time it fails. EVERY TIME. I do not understand.
I have tried the following:
I have downloaded the older firmware: x.1.56.2.2
Restarted the computer and the phone
Searched for 2 weeks on the internet 😡
I have heard that upgrading the firmware through the sd card is possible. Can someone please give me some information regarding this.
I need to upgrade the firmware. The version I have is very frustrating as it makes the phone move at a snails pace.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

What do you mean with "every time fails"? You get an error message from the upgrade utility or from the phone?
From your SPN number, I'm guessing you've got a Pixmania handset (but one with a VERY early firmware).
Try downloading the latest (1.98.5.2) firmware - either use the "French (voir release notes) version, or the Dutch version. Even though the Dutch version has a different SPN, it will work on your phone.
Also, please tell us what the error message you're getting is, and when it occurs.

OK... I have attempted the voir firmware and what happens is it will go to an error screen as soon as I attempt to begin the update. The phone and the computer "see" eachother but disconnect as soon as the update process is started.
I also want to know if the voir and the dutch will lock my phone back to an operator.

In attempting to DL the Dutch version, I have discovered that the SPN of the voir DL is Dutch version. Maybe my phone only can be updated with the voir firmware and I can't get it??

The Dutch firmware is unlocked, so will work on any phone, so that shouldn't be blocking you.

As I understand it, you need a special version of the firmware to do that. It's not a supported upgrade method for customers.

OK .. what is the problem?? The computer and the phone see eachother in the update mode. The USB cables are greeen and everyhing seems to be ok. As soon as I run the application to update the firmware, the application doesn't see the phone.
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM????
PLEASE HELP!!! this is driving me CRAZY!!!

Does the computer keep dis-connecting saying firmware update failed, or something similar?
Did it get part way through once before, then die?
I'm seeing Kev tomorrow, so I'll ask him if you post your answers before then.

That is EXACTLY what happens. It says 'firmware update failed' It started doing it once before but it took hours so I was thinking it wasn't right. So I took my chances and disconnected and everything was ok. So I am @ this point now.

I bought a Sendo X 3 days ago.
The problem is that the Memory Card isn't recognised!.
(MC works perfectly in my laptop and it is FAT)
So I wanted to try to re-install the firmware.
The computer sees the Sendo, the cable is ok and I can start uploading, but then it fails!!!!!
If someone can help me with the 2 problems.......
What's the SPN of your handset? Are you using the correct firmware?
I may be able to help with the memory card issue. Mine was initially formatted as FAT or what I thought was FAT. If the card is formatted as FAT32 , it won't work. This is what the majority of pre-formatted cards start off as.
