Nokia 6680 is losing the battle to 6630!!?
If you are asking yourselves, why 6680 is going to be so cheap?
Well there is a simple answer if we can believe in Jbenchmark test results.
It�s because 6680 is pretty worse in performances than 6630! That�s doesn�t mean that 6680 is not amazing good phone, no doubt about that, but my expectations was that 6680 is going to be much, much, much better...
In conclusion: seems that we are getting almost a 200 000 useless and unnoticeable colours and very, very noticeable slowdown in performance!!

The 'very very' bit is a little exaggerated 😉
No surprise given it has to handle more colours(better picture) than the 6630. It has the same 'tech' as a 6630. We knew this ages back. Actual usage of the phone in person will be the same or negligible.

go to www.futuremark.com and download the free version of SPMark05 and run the benchmark... that is legit! And let us know the results! 😉
They have the same processor @ the same speed. The key hardware differences (leaving out the shape) are the second camera and the 262K colour display (with a 65K colour display in the 6630).
As there is no special graphics accellerator on either device, and you need to manage much more memory for the 262K display vs. a 65K display, it is bound to result in a slight graphics performance difference (if you look for it), if the hardware and software stay otherwise the same.
And as with any artificial benchmark results, they matter nothing, if the actual real-life usage is acceptable. In the order of bad to worst (and to paraphrase a quote that doesn't go exactly like this): lies, damn lies and benchmarks. 😉
In any case, I'd take the 6680 over a 6630 any time myself. It just looks and feels much nicer.
I totally agree with N/A, the N6680 looks so much better than the ackward designed N6630 that I would choose it regardless..
Given that Tomtom Mobile will run flawless on it!! 😉
The 6630 pretty much has the same system ram as the 6600 (10mb) but the new OS and 3g services suck all more fo the ram and with the 6680 using up more memory for the extra screen capacity its a wonder that Nokia dident add more ram.

However, as I already said 6680 is damn good phone even with poor performance, it is first nokia real 3g phone, with better user interface, better camera (flash, better soft control), etc�
I will buy 6680 for sure, its logical step between 6630 and upcoming OS9 phones.
I hope that they will comes with better hardware, faster processor, more RAM, more internal memory and maybe with high destiny displays (something like on new 6230i)
Also keep in mind that Benchmark is based on poor java tests, 95% of apps I use on my phone are native apps and the difference could be down to the Java VM works. We need device and we need to try to run SP Mark 04 for final answer about performance�

There's no SPMark05.. currently is only SPMark05 and it dosen't support 6680.. any other benchmarking software to intro?
i juz change my 6630 to 6680. some apps doesn't seems to work on 6680. like de smartmovie 2.47.it works on 6630 but not 6680. another difference is de phone speaker ,6630's mono but 6680's stereo. i would prefer 6630 cause 6680 abit slower than 6630.
Yes well that is comparing the Euro version of the 6680. The US version that will launch in november will be a UMTS phone.

It will work. Just install it.
6680 will have nicer video quality on smart movie due to increased colours.
