Commercial MMS/Smartphone applications in Your country?

5 replies · 3,247 views · Started 30 October 2002

Ciao! Both major operators Sonera and Radiolinja here in Finland are starting (slowly) to bring applications for MMS-phones.

Please, lets change information. What kinds of things are the operators trying to sell You in Your country?

Radiolinja-operator sells us background-animations (1) and of course ringtones (1) postcard-applications (picture taken with your 7650 is sent to someone as a real postcard (2,50) and provides possibility to save your pictures to online album (only datacost).

Sonera sells those applications as well plus provides news-sevice (only datacost) etc. Sonera was the first to launch MMS, so they're starting to launch something "interesting" e.g. celebrities-journals (small celebrities are telling about their life daily with mms-messages 😊 )

But, how about out there?

Hi here in Spain operator and companies stared to use the MMS applications:

- Movistar operator only offers MMS for Movistar users

-Amena operator offers MMS for users and Notices by MMS (football, nes, events). And a very agressive offer with T68i and T300

- Vodafone sill start the Vodafone live services the next November 1st. Full MMS compatibility, download ringtones, JAva games, pay per event, the user cuold suscribe to a channel and received news, events,....
Vodafone starts with a very good promotion (nokia 7650,panasonic gd87, sharp Xc10, Sonyericsson P800 terminals qith special prices): 200 MMS free, 1,5Mb to acces GPRS free, 1 eingtone download free, 1 java game download free. The best offer dedicated to mms and gprs.

The spanish commercial guide "Yellow pages" will start next week a service to send the information by MMS.

1,5Mb GPRS for free, jippee!! ...That is so so little 😃
I have been using GPRS for a month now, and I have:

Sent data 51.75Mb
Received data 234.73Mb
according to phones counters. 😮

Thank god i am on a fixed fee 😊 (17euros/month) 😃
