For anyone that's on vodafone you can now get MMS free until Feb 2003, I don't know anyone that's got an MMS phone so who wants to help me out and see if i've got everything set up right?

Send me a PM with your Mobile Number and i'll try sending a message and you tell me if you've received it. Simple.

Cheers,

J

Are you sure it is free to send MMS on Vodafone till Feb 2003? .. I have had a look at their website and can see no mention of it. I am on vodafone myself and would love to try it but have to wait till I get my phone back from the Nokia Centre (Dust behind screen again! and old firmware 3.12)
Thanks
Visor

Hi sorry about that, I rec'd at least 15pm's with phone numbers on, some of them were international numbers which Vodafone doesn't yet support. (As far as i'm aware)

I am currently without a phone (Again) due to a problem with the battery connection, charging, power button (again), firmware upgrade.

So I will be giving it a try again when I get my phone back.

To J2TheIzzo:

Where do you get your upgrade done? Is it 'send away the phone' or is there a service centre somewhere in the Notts area?

Cheers

I'm getting it done @ Project Telecom in Newark

It's not a phone shop, I'm not really sure what they do, but they are a NSC and have their own technicians to fix the equipment.

You can contact them on 01636-602500 or phone Club Nokia, i'm pretty sure there's more than one in Nottingham city centre. (Probably Car Phone warehouse)

MMS on Voda UK is not working yet.
It went live a week last Friday but failed to work.

They are working on it - download the settings from the Nokia or Voda site, open up tools/settings/connection/AccessPoints/Vodafonemms GPRS or Vodafone Live! (depends on whos setting you downloaded) and change the session mode to 'permanent'

Then keep trying everyday untill they have it working
Oh - also you need a GPRS package on your contract obviously..

Oh - when it starts working can you let me know pls 😮)

Best

Will

Is there any benafit from upgrading from 3.12?
How much do carphone warehouse charge for this?
Can I do it myself?

Cheers 😊

If your phone is under warranty then it is free, if you ring Club Nokia they will tell you were your nearest NSC is.

On the question of DIY firmware upgrades, in theory yes it is possible. But why waste your time or money trying to do something that you can get someone else to do for free.
