9500/9300 Windows emulator available?

Hi,

I always found the Windows based Psion 5mx emulator very useful when I used a 5mx and revo.

Is a Windows based emulator of the 9500/9300 available for 'normal' users? I believe there's an emulator for developers (i.e. users of the SDK) but is it available for free for use by non developers? If so, where can I download it?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hia,

Well, you can download the SDK from forum.nokia.com. It's a free download for registered users (registration is free as well).

If you don't intend to use the emulator for programming purposes, may I ask what you need it for? Maybe something like Remote S80 is what you're looking for...?

Thanks, I'll check that Nokia link.

As for what I'd use it for, well there's no major reason, just a number of small uses that add up. As I said, I always found the Psion emulator very useful - in fact I last used it just a few days ago even though I no longer use my Revo.

Having a 2nd way to access your files can be very handy (if the 9300 goes down for example). I don't use Outlook (just Outlook express) so don't have a PC based way to check/update calender entries otherwise. Being able to copy/paste info from one place to another is often useful too.

That 'Semote s80' software looks like it might do some of that but it can't be as useful as a fully working version of the software on my PC. Sound like the emulator is free too.
