Hi,
Guys have u ever noticed that when you set any image as wallpaper (on n6630) image gets little bit blurred.. It loses original quality.. is it bcuz of 65K color limitations of n6630 ? or it will happen the same with 262K displays.. I really doubt on this.. to notice that difference, do on thing open image in gallery, set it as wallpaper, and then press Menu key to see the main screen, watch wallpaper carefully, and again hold menu key to switch gallery and now watch image again, u will see considerable difference... original image looks more sharp than wallpapered image.. is there any solution.. for this...
Wallpapers gets blurred...
i'm not sure, but i heard some english guy talking about a program called 'Sfondix',which should take care of wallpaper quality problem regarding 6630/7610
Hey,
I think you may find it's the resizing the phone does to the picture to fit it in as a wallpaper.
Try resizing on the PC to 176x145 pixels (176x132 also sticks in my head to) I think is the size, then send to phone & apply as wallpaper.

176x144 is the wallpaper size for the standby screen. For a full-screen background as part of a theme you'd use 176x208.
i'd like a solution to this.
The solution: Create the right size and colour depth wallpaper files with a proper image/bitmap editing tool on a PC rather than leaving it to the simpler conversion/compression in the phone.
Hi...
Not blur at all if you use the exact wallpapers sizes for each model ...
7610 : 176 x 144
6630: 174 x 142
Use BMP format for additional better quality results

Just do what AEFOX says. I tried the above and you still dont get the result unless you size the pic correctly. Its also alot more hassle.
Hey AEFOX,
Resizing Wallpaper to 174*122, solved my problem... Thanks buddy... now I hardly can notice any blurred image...Thanks again..

Use Nokia album to get 100% result. 😊
Hi,
6630: 174 x 142
the above is not the correct size of the wallpaper as it leaves 1 pixel gap on each side. The problem is with the firmware. I am using 6600 to convert JPB/BMP files (174x144) into MBM files and using that without a problem.
I guess it all depends on if you can or cannot live with the 1 pixel gap on either side.

Hi...
YES 174 x 142 its correct for 6630 ... and yes that eave a 1 pixel gap at sides, and yes may be its a firmware problem... i know that 6600 use 176 x 144 like 7610 ... and that its the real area for wallpapers, but for some reasson 6630 dont use the whole area when it convert any image to wallpaper, so for better quality reassons (not rescaled by phone) you must use 174 x 142 images for wallpapers... thats what i said...
thanks!

dude I understand what you are trying to say. Its fine. The reason 142 width does not cause problems is because the phone firmware does not try to shrink the image. This is not to say that the phone is not capable of displaying 144 px wide images.
The method I use is longer but since it bypasses the phone's software to convert JPG into MBM you are able to display 144px wide images without blur. So I guess it all comes down to:
ease of use:
142 px wide images
Perfection
use 6600 to convert JPG to mbm (my method)
That is all I am trying to say.
PS: It would be nice to have you as a member at Dakku Studios. Feel free to register if you havent done already
so I guess, I will have to buy another phone i.e. 6600 to get wallpapers in right size.. 😮

unless ofcourse you wanna wait for the firmware to be fixed??
