Unidentified icon on 9300

There's a small icon that appears on my 9300 (on the front phone cover screen) that I can't identify and it's starting to bug me.

It usually seems to appear after I plug the USB cable into the phone (but it's not the obvious 'cable' icon). The icon I'm talking about is a small vertical rectangle with 2 dots in the upper left hand corner. There's also a shallow 'U' shaped line under the rectangle.

What the hell is it? There's no mention of it in the manual.

Interesting. I noticed this unknown symbol the first time about ten days ago (I have had my 9300 since Feb 6).

The @ I get when I have unread mail (new mail notification)

The other I get when I put my phone into the cradle is comes with 😊

Nah, it can't mean it's in the cradle can it? What would be the point of that especially as there's also a 'cable is plugged in' icon?

Can't be that simple can it?

Well, when I put it into the cradle, I get the cable symbol and the symbol you described. So far I've only got that symbol when I put it in the cradle that came with it.
