How to get a DATAbase on 9500 that actually works?

I switched from Psion 5MX to Nokia Communicator 9500 and I was missing a SIMPLE DATAbase application that would help me to store many records about eg... DVDs, work adresses, private addresses and so on. Simple databases to find rapidly records.

I "use" now SMALLBASE. The demo version was great and could access in no time information from a dozen records. Since I purchased the software I just cannot work anymore. The application is so SLOW, it takes one minute to find 3 records out of a base of 1200 records of adresses and phone numbers. A complete nightmare! It is impossible to hold a conversation with someone and attempt to get information in real time. Refreshing the screen just takes tenn of seconds. Useless.

Also, for some of my bases, they cannot be sorted (by name) while others work fine.

Does anyone have a solution? I seek a simple database to order the records (by name) and filter the records to display the ones that satisfy the filter criteria (eg name). No need for complex scripting and fancy data management.

I have 514 records in Smallbase, some short, some very long (something over 1000 characters in "Long memo" field.

When Find function's option "As filter" is on, then the finding process is abysmally slow.

But when I have the Find option "As Filter" off, then finding records is instantaneous (but only one at a time, ctrl-J jumping to the next). Admittely worse than Psion's exteremely fine user interface in Data, but I can live with it now this way. I tried YData two times, and it was much worse, practically impossible for my purposes - I do not remember why, but so it was.
