Active sync not finding device

I have just purchased a nokia 6630 but i am having problems with microsoft active sync. When it is conncected with the usb cable it keeps stating that it cannot find the device...

Ive downloaded the lastest nokia suite which recognised the mobile and works fine via the usb cable.

Ive read the microsoft help files to no avail...

any help appreciated....

althought Microsoft and symbian have came to an agreement that will alow ALL symbian phone to use Activsync once symbian finish the application for the phone!!!!!

That's not for ActiveSync between a phone and a PC (local synchronization), but between a phone and an Exchange server connected to the Internet (remote synchronization).

Anyway, Symbian may have made and agreement, but then Symbian has to develop the software, too. Then they have to make it part of a Symbian OS release. Then there has to be a device manufacturer that licenses that version of Symbian OS. Then they have to actually release a device with it. In other words, it'll still take a while, before...
