Dont know about the air conditioners ... but I think the TV app is already done somewhere (I dunno where)

There has been speculation about that the 7650 IR beam is so weak 😞
that you would not be able to control them too far (about 1 metre limit)

But I dont know. I have been able to connect from about 2 metres to my
computer using IR.
Bluetooth wold be a different thing, but not many TVs have bluetooths 😃

Hmm Remote control, well the problem I think is there is no access to HARDWARE of IR on the 7650, it is all layered and protocol based.. I would be surprised if it can be done (let alone already done 😉)

Of course, Nokia seems to have double standards when it comes to releasing documentation, so maybe somebody knows how 😉

I think what we need to work on now is controlling Windows Media Centre via Bluetooth for all those who may have a copy of it, but without the actualy Media Centre machine.

Probably! You can actually test it! If you have an IR dongle connected to a com port lets say COM3 connect with hyperterminal to this com and align the phone at a distance of 5 meters to the IR! Activate the IR and if yopu see some data on the screen this means it works from that distance! If again it does not then go nearer untilk it works! That is your maximum distance!
