Emulation

Aloha !

Does anyone know how I can run the .sis files on the PC ?
I just feel there is some kind of emulator for it.....

The idea is that I try the software BEFORE I install it on my phone and thus pollute my 6630 with unwanted files...

Now I already tried the SDK and GameMagic but they are soooooooooo limited.... I just need a REAL emulator...

I think I saw something on the nokia dev section. Well worth a look. I think its the C++ or codewarrior SDK

There is no "REAL emulator" that emulates actual phone hardware. The SDK (Software Development Kit) emulator runs phone programs compiled for the emulator, and that emulator cannot run programs compiled for the actual phone.

So, in other words, there is nothing that lets you install and run actual .sis files for the phone on any PC.

Ola !

for me it is so hard to believe there is no such thing. I mean I can (read poeple can) emulate almost ANYTHING with my PC.
From XBox to Spectrum, From Camecube to you name it....

I think it should be possible... Afterall, the slow bulgy phone can run it, so the only thing you need is a Symbian-like OS on your PC ? Maybe even true VMware ????

Maybe they don't want us to do that ? Something wth copyright perhaps ???

It could be done, but just hasn't been done. The base work for such should come from Symbian, but I suppose a complete hardware emulator is not a priority item for them.
