Battery and C.o..n...t....a.....c......t.......s........

I know the buzz is about the 9500 these days, but I was hoping some people might have seen my problems before.

First, my battery life stinks. I do not use the phone at all (leave it in flight mode), but the battery will run down over a weekend, even with no apps running and I don't open it. That's right, the standby time with the phone in flight mode is less than three days.

I bought a new battery and it behaves the same as the old one.

I can barely make it through the day using the PDA functions. My netBook (RIP) fared much better, although with a dimmer screen.

Second, is there some trick for speeding up contacts searching? I have 1603 contacts and 7 groups, but it is painful to search for a contact. Heaven forbid I miskey a name, it could take me 15 seconds to delete the offending character.

This is most annoying when I am on the phone with a client and have to clandestinely and quickly look up their contact info.

Can I remove certain fields from the search function (ala ER5)?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I was running 1340 contact on my 9210i and that caused damage to the internal memory.

The phone has been to the service centre 4 times & finally I was informed that the max for contacts that the 9210i, 9300, and 9500 will take without causing damage to the memory is 1000. The fact that you are running some 1600 contacts ( I dont know whether they are full contacts) will untimately cause problems for you & may damage the memory.

I have inexcess of 2000 full contacts and I still have not purchased a phone that will take all of the contacts. Pitty, because I cannot use a 9500 because of lack of internal memory. External cards are useless as the contacts still have to be load into the internal memeory to use

I am not sure if this will be any help but some nokias had battery security problems. ie they move and break contact with the phone. One way around it was to fold a small piece of paper and put it under or to the side of the battery. thi solved my problem
best of luck
