Problems linking A1000 to Toyota Prius through Bluetooth

Hello Everyone,
Being the owner of a Toyota Prius (Hipack version) and having recently purchased a Motorola A1000, I was hoping to use the Prius Advanced Handsfree capabilities to link it to the A1000.
I have already read both manuals (car / phone) and gone step by step several times but always without success. At most, sometimes, the A1000 detects a "Bluetooth Hands Free" device (and accepts it after entereing the password) but on the Prius navigation system, the handshake is never done. This detection is very erratic!
Does anyone have experience on this, could have any suggestion as how to solve this problem? All comments will be welcome!
Thanks in advance!
Take care,
PT

I have similar problems connecting with my Prius. Sequence of actions happens similar to yours - a bonding is successfully formed from my phone to the car (according to the phone) but the car never acknowledges a successful link!

If you've been able to find any info on this, and why it is, I'd greatly appreciate it.
