newbie question

Had the 6630 for a couple of days now and i've got a couple questions

1) Whats the led on top right of the phone for?

2) This may answer Q.1 but when i get an alert i.e.text, missed call I don't get a reminder that something is waiting. Is this normal or should I get regular reminders and is this possible what the led is supposed to do?

1: Ambient (surroundings) light sensor (for automatic control over keypad lights, screen backlight).

2: Normal. No regular reminders, except through the indicators on the display (on standby screen or screensaver).

Thanks for the quick response. At least I know its not a problem and doesn't have to go back to Orange :icon14:
