Absolute beginner wants to program for Series 60 (Sendo X)

I'm interested in learning to write basic (i.e. low-level, not the language) apps for my new Sendo X. I have a little experience of BASIC, some Visual Basic and an almost neglibile amount of C++. I was forced to learn Pascal at college, but I've forgotten most of it because it's useless.

Can anyone recommend a good book to start off with?

Does it cover Bluetooth app development? I would love to experiment with that.

Also, how much previous C++ experience is needed - I have very little.

Does the book come with a CD with all the needed software (I'm sorting out a copy of Visual Studio).

The language closest to Basic and Pascal is OPL. OPL is not covered by the aforementioned book. Considering your background my advise is that you will have something running in the phone much faster with OPL than with C++.

I recommend instead Ewan's OPL book reviewed somewhere else in AAS. This should get you going.
