Nokia Phone Browser

Hey
I've read all forum posts i can find and i cannot find any1 about the problem i have.

First of all, I'm using windows 2003... and a Nokia 6630

Now to the real issue.

I cannot get "Nokia Phone Browser" to work. It wont show up anywhere.. I've tried all programs that's supposed to work.

In the application installer it says: The contents of the currently selected phone model cannot be shown by this application.

But The Nokia PC Suite finds the phone, and I'm able to to install applications with the application installer.

I would really like some help with my problem, it's anoying to have to take out the memorycard and put it in the smartcard reader each time i want to transfer a singel file.

Thanks for you time..

As it seems to me now, it wont work on Windows server 2003.

I cannot find any information about it anywhere though.
Does anyone know more about this I'll be glad for some information..

It works on Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Windows 2003 Server is probably not tested/supported & from what I've heard & read there seems to be "issues" with many desktop apps and drivers on Windows 2003 Server.

Yes it seems so, but I was suprised this wasnt talked about anywhere.

Well, maybe it's time to change to Win2000 then..

Thanks for your reply.

I have windows 2000 pro and a nokia 6630 (got it yesterday) and mine says the same thing so i dont think i would be windows 2003 causing it.
so if anyone has any ideas there are at least two people here who could do with some help....PLEASE

I know nothing about windows server 2003, but can you right click on phone browser and click properties. Then click compability and choose Windows 2000 or Windows XP. I am not sure you can do this in server but try it 😉

OOOOpps just checked the help file and Hmmm it says this"Applications on Symbian operating system phones cannot be listed or deleted with Nokia Application Installer. Delete them straight from the phone. For more information whether your phone uses Symbian operating system, refer to the phone model information in"

the application wont let me delete it Heeeeeeeelllllllllllllppppppppppp 😮

Apps installed on the phone are deleted with the "Manager" app on the phone (by default in the "Tools" submenu/folder), not PC Suite's "Application Installer" - nomen est omen. 😉

So can anyone tell me why the all powerfull nokia give you a cd with a phone browser included!! in the price...And errrr it wont work on the 6630. seems a bit stupid to me.. how can i browse my pictures and stuff on my phone with the pc, I can see someone has really put a lot of thought into this software/phone package 😡

Old thread... Problem solved yet? Well, I got W2003Server too, and Nokia Phone Browser works nicely. Just get latest DKU-2 drivers from Nokia's website.

And then I got a question. I just got memorycard reader and I transfered some files to my 256MB RS-MMC with it and now my N9500 won't recognice the card anymore. Anyone can help, quickly?

🙄 I don't want to be condescending but have you called Nokia to see if you have the newest version of your software for your phone? It usually makes a HUGE difference to bring in your phone for updates...
