I recently upgraded to a 6260 and was very happy with it when suddenly it turned off and i had to send it away for repair under warranty. They sent it back saying that it was water damaged and it was not covered by warranty. I then tried to contact a nokia dealer to see if i could pay to get it repaired. They told me they wouldnt touch water damaged phones.
The phone starts up with like a multi coloured snow on the screen and the nokia sound plays after i enter my pin code (i can't see anything though).
Is there any way I can fix it??
did u drop it in water...be truthful now...techs arnt stupid... you could try dismatling the phone soaking the boards in Alcohol or mrtho and that should dispers any water..
If water and resulting oxidization (corrosion) has already damaged electronic components, no amount of cleaning with anything will save it now (except replacing the components, which is hard to do without swapping the whole circuit board or other damaged modules).
I didnt drop it in water, no. Maybe in the bathroom where it is damp but never dropped in water
Do you know if it is possible to get a replacement main board?
I have tried cleaning but only briefly, so is the phone scrap?
