Help before purchasing the nokia 6630!

Hi Guys

I am about to purchase the nokia 6630 on 3 network and I need to know 2 things please:
1. will this phone be locked on 3?
2. will there be any restrictions on the menus or functions within the phone?

Yes and yes. You wont be able to surf any website other than the 3 homepage...

thanks for the reply.

what about the menus and functions within the phone (not related to browsing) ie. like mp3 player, etc... are some of them removed in 3?

Hey,

In my travels I have read that the 3 walled garden will be dropping at some some stage, allowing users to view other web sites other than 3's.

When this will happen I do not know, but I know one thing's for sure when it does a lot of people will jump over to a 3 tariff.

hey pal...i have some good news for ya...i already have a generic 6630...but i'm going to purchase one on the three network shortly...why? well...we had the 3 rep in store today..and i asked him about the web..explaining that its holding alot of people back from taking the 6630 out on contract (12 months half price line rental(18 month ct)the handsets free!! 30 quid per month ..talk n text ..500 min 100 text)...and he stated that three are going to be lifting the WEB restriction in the next few months...thats fantastic news...the coverage is genrally good now...so roll on free web browsing!! whoooooo! :icon14:

but what about other functions in the phone? such as MP3 player etc... I mean if you take a normal 6630 without any network software and compare it with one with the 3 software, will they have similar functions and menus?

How about a 3rd party web brower? Surly the restriction is on the brower application on the phone ("web" icon)? :hmmmm:

The restriction is on the proxy server the phone gets it's internet connection from, it is set to only allow access to the '3' web site.
