corrupted memory card

having tried to dowload a movie to my memory card, the phone tells me that the memory card is corrupt. looking in file explorer the card is still there but when i try to open it apps closed appears. being new to this phone i cant figure out how to get the card back... any ideas anyone 😡

I had the same problem. You can either format the card on the phone, which will take an absolute age or what you could do is format the card on your PC using (and this is the key bit) format it using FAT format not FAT32, as this will cause it to show up as corrupted on your phone.

thanks, i tried formatting the card on my phonebut it comes back with system error
how would i go about formatting it on the pc

I'm going to assume your PC has a memory card reader of some sort. Whichever drive the card reader shows up in (usually E: or F😊, right click on the drive icon, select Format. There should be a drop down menu at the top - use it to select FAT. and then click Quick format.
