Using phone as movie player

6 replies · 1,964 views · Started 20 April 2005

Hi!

Id like to know if there is anyone here using his/her phone as a movie player (for longer videos such as movies / episodes of tv-shows etc).

In that case Im interested in how it works and:
-What phone model are you using?
-What software are you using (on phone and on PC)?
-What is good/bad?

...and anything else youd like to share...

Regards

6630
smartmovie player (phone) and smartmovie convertor (pc)

No serious issues. Although with sound i am finding that playback is perfect for 10 seconds and then a slight frame skip occurs and then back to normal. This repeats. This is only an issue in full framerate playback. This may not bother most people and is hardly noticeable for a phone.

Its perfect other than that. The quality is amazing. Use xvid or 3ivx.

Thanks! :icon14:

How many seconds of this quality video fits per MB? Will a complete movie fit into a 256MB MMC card?

yeh it will...........will even barely fit on a 128mb card.....if you dont set the settings too high

High quality = space eater.

Mess around with settings and see what you prefer?

I tend to keep fullframe rate and compress further. Sound to mono and 22khz or lower.

I am still waiting for a memory card to buy :frown:

i'm using the 6630...i use both real player and smartmovie...i convert movies via my pc...have plenty of memory cards to store them on...my largest film...pulp fiction is 225mb..quality is excellent..but thats just preference....id rather excellent quailty.

Sounds great!
What is excellent quality to you? How high resolution, frame rate, sound quality etc.?
