Problem with unlocked 6600 on from Orange

Hi Guys,

I hope this has not been asked before as it appears to be a common fault, I have just unlocked a 6600 on Orange to be used on T-mobile, it tells me it no longer locked yet when I insert any SIM it just turns itself off!! However, when I enter an Orange SIM it works fine. Any ideas please?

Thanks
Martin

I not sure that this is the case, but does it still have orange firmware installed? Is there a menu icon called 'Orange Places'? As I have never done what you have done I am not sure but maybe it is an Orange failsafe method that the firmware rejects a non orange sim, I am not sure if this is possible.
Also on a less conspirital note you could try cleaning your sim contacts.

Hi, Yes everything is Orange branded still even after a full format, I have tried both a T-Mobile and Voda SIM , all that happes is phone will boot up then shut straight down again. Soon as I put an Orange SIM back in it works fine... Help

Just an idea following on from what I said, maybe get the firmware upgraded? Go to NSS and see what they say.

I unlocked a nokia 6600 from orange just yesterday and the same problem.... i had to unlock both sim lock 1 and 2 then it worked fine...
